The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a Roman Catholic Basilica located in Goa. The Bom Jesus Church is one of the Oldest Church in India. This Jesuit church is the First Church in India to get Minor Basilica Status. This Basilica is one of the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World. The Construction work of this Church began in the year 1594 and was consecrated on May 1605. This Basilica of Bom Jesus Churches and convents of Goa is a part of UNESCO's World Heritage Site. The Mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier is preserved in this Church. The Mortal Remains of this Saint attracts huge number of people around the world. The holy relics of the saint are displayed every ten years during the anniversary of the saint's death. The surroundings of this Church is filled with realistic paintings and carvings and it also has a art gallery full of oil paintings which dates back to the years 1973 and 1976. This Church is built by following Baroque architecture. The interior of the church has been inspired from Mosaico-Corinthian architecture. This Beautiful Church is made out of Black Granite.
