This Temple is around 17 Kms away from Vellore Town on the Vellore to Chennai national Highway and the Temple is located on a small hillock. The Presiding Deity is Lord Murugan. Swamy Balamurugan Adimai oversees the entire Temple Administration. Temple was built around 14th Century by Poet Arunagirinathar who has sung in praise of this Temple. Unlike other Murugan Temples Soorasamharam was not performed here. Decorative coloured paintings are found on the ceiling. The walls around this Temple comprises statues of Murugan, Ganesa, Dhakshnamurthy, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. Tamil Poojas instead of Sanskrit is the speciality of this Temple. Skanda Shasti and Aadi Kirthigai are performed in a grand manner. A granite Sanctum Sanctorum is built as per the Chola Architecture. A Ganesha Sannadhi is found on top and also at the Foothill. A Pushkarani has been built close to the Temple. Foot steps and a Motorable Ghat Road are available to reach the Temple top. They do levy a Fee for Cars and other bigger vehicles. Skandha Sashti is celebrated in a very grand manner during which time several lakhs of Devotees congregate here from all nearby places and the Deities are taken around in a Golden Charriot.
