The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Arulmigu Badrakali Amman and this Temple is located in the far flung Tuticorin District in Vilathikulam Taluk in a village called Kulathur.  The Temple is situated 18 Kms away from Kurukkuchalai to Rameswaram Road. The Presiding Deity is Omnipotent and She occupies the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple and Blesses all Devotees.  This Temple belongs to Naadar Uravinmurai and there is no Government involvement.  Apart from the Presiding Deity there is a Sub Shrine for Uchi Maakali Amman.  The entire Temple premises is neatly cemented with tiles. Every year the Temple celebrates Kodai Vizha during the last Tuesday of the Tamil Aani Month  and this festival lasts for around 6 days. During this time the Temple premises and the surrounding areas of Kulathur is lit up with coloured lights and Illuminated Arches are placed at all important places.  During these festive occasion Dance and Exhibitions too are conducted and this draws a lot of Devotees.  The Temple Administration conducts various competitions like Kabbadi, Rekla Race etc and distribute prizes to the winners thereby making the competition more lively.  Since the sea shore is located closeby the Temple Tusker is taken to the nearby Sippikulam village along with Rajamelam, Chendamelam, Firework display etc and Holy Water is fetched from there in a procession and brought to the Temple.  The Holy Water thus brought is poured on the Presiding Deity of Badrakali Amman as a mark of Oblation.  It is also a usual practice to bring out the Pathirakali Amman on a Palanquin in a procession.  Usually during Pournami or Full Moon days the Temple is brightly lit and special Vilakku Pooajai are conducted. The Temple is a Kula Deivam to several villagers residing in and around this area.  Hence this Amman Temple attracts a lot of Devotees not only from Kulathur but from other far flung areas.
