Sri Kailasanathar Temple is situated in Rasipuram and it is a important Temple and a landmark in Rasipuram. King Valvil Ori shot an arrow on a Swine which was actually Lord Shiva in disguise. Hence even now the Swayambhu Shiva Lingam is said to have a Scar reminding us of the incident. The Temple has a five tiered Rajagopuram. The Presiding Deity here is Lord Kailasanathat who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and He could be seen in the Sanctum Sanctorum as a Shiva Lingam. His Consort is Goddess Aram Valartha Nayaki or Dharma Samvardhini who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathy and She is seen  in Her Shrine facing West.  There are Sub Shrines for Ganapathy, Subramaniyar, Kaala Bhairavar, Sani Bhagawan, Pancha Lingams, Saraswathi, Gajalakshmi, 63 Nayanmaars and Dhakshinamoorthy. It is unique that Lord Murugan is seen here in two forms viz. Baladhandayuthapani and Kalyana Subramaniyar. Naga Devatha Idols  too are worshipped here and it is a habit to pour milk over it so that the Devotees are saved from the Naaga Dosham. Apart from this the Temple has a separate Sub Shrine for the Philanthropic King Valvil Ori who was primarily instrumental in building this Temple. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Nelli or Amla Tree. This Temple is famous since Devotees interested in honing their skills in all forms of fine arts visit this Temple and Pray to Lord Kailasanathar. It is believed that a secret tunnel which was built in earlier days and is now in a dilapidated condition connects this Temple to the Arapaleeswarar Temple in Kolli Hills. Festivals like Thai Poosam, Maasi Magam, Pamguni Uthiram and Chithirai Brahmmothsavam draws an overwhelming number of Devotees that time.
