Its a Hindu Temple and the Presiding Deity is Lord Nagaraja. Lord Nagaraaja Blesses from the Sanctum Sanctorum with His Five Heads. The Main Nagaraja Deity is a Swambhumurthy here. A stone pillar of Nagakanni or Female Cobra is prayed with reverence. Though Nagaraaja is the Main Deity the Kodimaram stands for Lord Anandha Krishnan only. The Temple is situated in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu and close to Kerala too. Nagercoil derives its name from this Temple. Several Jain Tirthankara images inscriptions are found in this Temple. Some also believe that this Temple was earlier a Jain Temple. Its a important Pariharaa Sthalam for those having Naaga Dosham. There are countless number of Serpent Statues here and people derive a great satisfaction in performing Milk and Turmeric Abishekam as an Offering to Lord Nagaraja. There are Shrines for Anandha Krishnan, Subramaniyar, Durga Devi & Dharmasastha. Wet Sand is offered to the Devotees as a Prasadam. The Sthala Viruksham here is known as Nagavalli. A dip in the Holy Naaga Theertham during Raahu Kaalam on Tuesday would drive away Naaga Dosham.
