The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Parimala Ranganathar who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desam of Lord Vishnu and this Temple is also considered as Pancharanga Kshetram. This Temple is built on the Banks of River Cauvery. Lord Parimala Ranganathar is accompanied by His Consort Goddess Parimala Ranganayaki. She is also called as Chandrasaapa Vimochanavalli or Pundareekavalli. The 12 meter wide Presiding Deity is made out of green stone and is facing East. Lord Parimala Ranganathar Blesses His Devotees in a reclining posture or Pallikonda posture. There are images of River Goddess Cauvery and Ganga inside Sanctum Sanctorum. The Brahma Idol is carved on the wall of the Temple. Chola Kings, Vijayanagara Rulers and Madhurai Nayakas worked hard in developing this Temple. This Temple is built by following Dravidian Style of Architecture and has a five tiered Rajagopuram on the East. This Temple is well compounded by Granite Stone. The Pillars of the Garudamandapan is carved with ten avathar of Lord Vishnu. There is a Sacred Tank and Devotees are allowed to take a holy dip.
