This Murugan Temple is located in a small hamlet called Thinniam.  A serpantine single road leads us to this Temple from Lalgudi. The road is full of lush green forestry and devoid of traffic. This Temple is supposed to heve been built by Kundavai Nachiyar sister of The Great Chola King Raja Rajan and is believed to be around 1400 years old. The Presiding Deity is Lord Subramania Swamy and he is known by certain other Names as Shanmugam, Shanmuganathan etc. The Temple is South facing and on entering the Temple there is a small Pedestal on which a Peacock Vaahanam, a Bali Peedam and a Spear are mounted. All the above three face the Sanctum Sanctorum in which Lord Subramania Samy is found along with Valli and Devasena.  All three of them are found seated on their individual Peacock respectively.  On the left there is a Sub Shrine for Lord Siddhi Vinayagar.  There is a Mouse and a Bali Peedam before His Shrine. There are Sub Shrines for Kasi Vishwanathar, Sivaloganathar, Sri Koshteeswarar, Periyanayagi, Arunagirinathar, Dhakshinamoorthy, Brahmma, Maha Vishnu, Chandikeshwarar and Durgai.  The Temple is very unique since simultaneous Pooja are held for Subramaniya Swamy in the Sanctum Sanctorum and for Sri Koshteeswarar who is found in the form of a Shiva Lingam.  There is a pillared hall in which small Yaagam or other Divine functions could be held.  There is a normal Bell along with an electric gong and they have provided backup inverter facilities and there are adequate water taps in this Temple. There is a Navagraha enclosure on the outer peripherals.  It is also believed that by worshipping the Navagraham of this Temple would get rid of all Dhoshams and Obstacles caused by Navagrahas.   Apart from this Naga Devathas, Kaala Bhairavar, Idumban and Suriyan  also have Sub Shrines. It is believed that students and youngesters who come here and Pray to Lord Subramniya Swamy would gain enough of worldly knowledge, spiritualism and divinity.  Many Devotees do visit this Temple on auspicious days such as Chithirai 1st, Vaikasi Visagam, Aadi Kiruthigai, Purattasi Navarathiri, Aipasi Kandha Shasti, Thiru Karthigai, Maasi Shivarathiri and Panguni Uthiram and  carry Kaavadi on their Heads and Shoulders and get their hair tonsured with a belief that all evils would fly past them in a whisker.

Temple Timing: 6 AM to 11 AM to 4 PM to 7.30 PM
