This  Temple is seem to have been built opposite the Panamalai lake. It is said that this Temple was built in those days by  the Pallava King Narasimha Pallavan II.  The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Thalagireeswarar and He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Ashtathalambikai. This Temple is located on a small hillock and Devotees have to climb nearly 50 steps to reach the Sanctum Sanctrum of this Temple. This Temple was built in the 7th century AD by Pallava King Narashima Varman II. There are small Sub Shrines for  Lingam on all four directions of the Sanctum Sanctorum. Most Images drawn and other Mural  Paintings here are blurred due to age factor and poor patronage. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Palm Tree. Devotees visit this Temple in order to get good education and knowledge. Chitarai Festival and Shivarathri is celebrated in a grand manner here. The Sacred Tank of this Temple is considered as Gangai.
