This Temple is located in Denkanikottai in Krishnagiri district. Denkani is a Divine Weapon which the Lord had used to wipe out the Demons. Its a small hill temple with Foot Steps and also a Motorable road available. The Presiding Deity here is Gavi Lakshminarasimha Swamy. The Temple is East facing with a 5 Tier Rajagopuram. Gavi in Kannada means Cave. Since this is a cave Temple the upper roof is very low in the Sanctum and hence the Devotees have to sit and Pray before the Lord. It is believed to be 5000 years old and located amongst thick forest. In earlier days Devotees used to avoid this temple due to poor roads and due to animal menace. But now newer roads have been laid upto the Temple. Even now the Temple closes at 5 PM much earlier than the other Temples loacted close by. A separate shrine for the Nagas is found outside the Temple and its firmly believed that it removes the Naga Dhoshams of all who Pray here. It is believed that the Pancha Pandavas had visited this Temple during the time of their Exile. Its also said that Kanva Maharishi did Penance here during his time. The Temple withstood the onslaught of Mughal invasion very well. There are 2 Tunnels here leading to 1) Hosur and 2) Melkote which were dug in the earlier times.
