This Temple is also called as Sri Balasubramanya Swamy Temple and it is located in a place known as Kanthamalai in Mohanur. Many believe that this Temple has stood the test of time and is several centuries old but recently renovated and gorgeously painted. There is West facing Welcome Arch close to the main road and vehicles can pass through it and parked with ease since the parking area is huge. Beyond it is a small four pillared Mandapam with a Spear or Vel and Peacock at its centre facing the Temple. On top of this Mandapam is a coloured Idol of Sri Murugan. There are two East facing Sub Shrines in which two different Idols of Ganapathy along with a few Naga Devathas are kept on top of a podium which is built beneath a Tree. To the left of the four pillared Mandapam is a sloping cemented ramp of about 50 meters. At the end of this ramp is a Idumban's Sub Shrine. This Idumban is seen South facing and in a standing posture. This Temple is built on a hillock known as Kandhamalai and Devotees may have to climb around 39 steps to reach the Temple premises. They have provided steel railings for the weak and elderly to grip it and climb. These 39 steps built here denotes to the 27 Nakshathram and 12 Raasis. There is no Rajagopuram for this Temple and instead there is a Gopuram with a coloured Idol of Murugan on top of it. Just before entering the Temple there are two pillared corridors and in one of them the Temple's Vaahanams are stacked and kept. The Temple has a tall metallic Dwajasthambam or Kodi Maram, a Neivedhya Peedam and a Mayil Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam. There are two dazzling gold plated thresholds. This Temple does not have any Idols for the Dwara Baalagas but instead there are Images drawn for them. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Balasubramanya Swamy is seen West facing in a standing posture with a Spear in His hand. Just outside the Moolasthanam there are Idols for Arunagirinathar and Veerabahu who are North facing. To the left of the Moolashtnam are the Idols of Ganapathy, Kasi Viswanathar and Visalakshi who are all facing Westwards. On the wall there is an eye captivating coloured Image of Mahadevar and Parvathy.
