The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Kathirvel and He is considered as an incarnation of Lord Muugan. THis Temple is located on a small Hillock called Swarnamalai. Here Lord Murugan is formless A vel brought from Srilanka has been installed inside the Sanctum Sanctorum and This Vel is considered as the Presiding Deity. This Temple is built facing east. There is a Motorable Ghat Road Leading to this Temple complex which gives the areal view of Kovilpatti Town. There are Sub Shrines for Lord Manicka Vinayaka, Lord Dandayudhapani and Lord Bhairava. Thai Poosam, Aadi Pooram, Vinayakar Chaturthi are celebrated in a grand manner.
