This Temple comlex has 3 Prakarams and a 5 Tiered Rajagopuram. The Presiding Deity is known as Panchavarneswarar or Panchavarnaswamy and the Mother is called as Kanthimathi Ammal. The Stala Vritcham here is a Vilwam tree. At the entry point there is a huge nandhi, well decorated too. The Temple has a Maha Mandabam, Ardha Mandabam and a Sanctum Sanctorum. The Panchavarnaswamy is in the form of a Lingam made of pure Granite stone. Lord Shiva here is Swayambumurthy and shows 5 colours. If a devotee watches closely he or she could find the changes in the colour of the Lingam. The Sanctum Sanctorum is east facing whereas the Ambal Shrine is South facing. Close to the temple one can find the images of Maha Vishnu, Sun God, Lord Saneeswarar and Kaala Bhairavar. There are samller shrines for Ambal, Subramanyar, Vinayagar and Mahalakshmi here. 8 inscriptions have been found in this temple which implies that this temple had been built by the Chola Rulers. Sivamani Gurukkal is the Chief Priest here.
