Paruthiappar Kovil is located close to Orathanadu. The full name of this Temple is Arulmigu Sri Mangalanayagi Undanurai Sri Bhaskareswarar Temple. This Temple is East facing with 5 tiers of Rajagopuram. This is the 101st Shiva Temple located on the Southern Bank of River Cauvery. Parithiappar in Tamil or Bhaskareswarar in Sanskrit is the Presiding Deity and He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. There are a pair of Dwarabalakaas on the threshold to the Sanctum Sanctorum. A Pillayar Idol along with all the other Urchavamuthy Idols are kept in a locked enclosure. On entering the Temple there is a Dwaja Ganapathi facing the Rajagopuram. Beyond it is a Dwajasthambam and a Bali Peedam with a Nandhi Vaaganam in a 4 pillared Mandabam facing the Moolasthanam. Lord Parithiappar along with His Consort Goddess Mangalambikai (Parvathi) Blesses His Devotees. Lord Shiva is a Swayambumurthy and the Sun God gains prominence here. On entering there is a multi pillared Mandabam with maroon coloured pillars.The South facing Ambal Mandapam is situated next to the Vasantha Mandapam. There are Sub Shrines for Lords Vinayagar, Natarajar and Murugan. There is a Nalwar Sub Shrine too wherein all the 4 Great Saints are kept. Bhairavar, Suriyan, Chandran & Chandikeshwarar are kept in a nearby Sub Shrine. In the outer peripheral there are Sub Shrines for Vinayagar, Murugan, Maha Vishnu, Mahalakshmi, Saraswathy and Anjaneya Swamy. There are 4 Idols for Gaja Samhaaramurthi, Radhamurthy, Dhakshnamurthy and Saneeswaran. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi too closeby. Likewise Kaala Bhairavar occupies a Sub Shrine. People attaining 60, 70, 80 years of age perform Ayush Homam for their longevity. The Sthala Viruksham is a Arasa Maram and the three Theertham or Pushkarani are Surya Pushkarani, Chandra Pushkarani and Karunguzhi Theertham. The first Pooja in this Temple is done for the Sooryan and then only Lord Bhaskareshwarar is Prayed. The Temple is a Pithru Dosha Parihara Sthalam where Devotees offer Prayers with reverence. This Temple has ample Parking for Vehicles and more than 50 cars too can be parked at the same time. Maha Shivarathiri, Pradosham, Thiru Karthigai, Aarudhra Dharisanam are some of the festivals celebrated here in a grand manner.
