Sree Siddhi Vinayak Temple is located in Prabhadevi in Mumbai. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Ganesha and the Temple was originally built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on 19 November 1801 and now run by the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple (Prabhadevi) Trust, Mumbai. The Temple was totally renovated between 1990 and 1993 considering in view the humid Mumbai conditions and rains etc. He is also called as Navsacha Ganapati, Navasala Pavanara Ganapati. The idol of Shree Siddhivinayak is of black stone and is 2.5 feet high and 2 feet wide, with the trunk on the right. The upper right hand holds a lotus, the left an axe. The lower right hand holds a rosary and the lower left holds a ‘modaka’. Around the neck is the snake like sacred thread. The iIdol is carved out of a single stone. The idols of Riddhi and Siddhi are on either side of Shree Siddhivinayak. The first floor of the Temple is a mezzanine floor mainly used for Poojas and Darshan. The second floor houses the kitchen used to make Shree’s Maha Naivedya (offering) and a restroom. The Neivedhya prepared in the Kitchen is carried through an Elevator to the Sanctum Sactorum and watched by CCTV and a posse of Security Staff. The 3rd Floor has the Conference Hall, CEO's Chamber, Cnetral Office, Computer Room etc. The 4th Floor houses a Library whereas the 6th Floor houses a massive Kitchen used during functions and festivals. There are several Gold plated Crowns for the Siddhi Vinayak and around 300 devotees could have a glimpse of the God at the same time. Every year lakhs of Devotees including Bollywood Celebrities and Politicians of different States visit this Temple. There is a separate Shrine for Lord Hanuman too. It is considered as one of the richest ever Temples in India.
