This is one of the most renowned Temples of Madhya Pradesh and is believed to have been built by Rani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar dynasty of the Maratha empire in the year 1735. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Ganesha. This is one of the famous and largest Temple in Indore City. The outer walls, threshold and the celing of the Sanctum Sanctorum are made of genuine silver and the Lord’s Eyes are of Diamonds. A lot of rich businessmen have contributed their might in upbringing this Temple to this level. There was a stage during the Moghul invasion that the Presiding Deity of Lord Ganesh along with few other Idols were hidden when Aurangazed invaded and plundered this Temple. Many Devotees come to this Temple in overwhelming numbers on Wednesdays and Sundays since there is a firm belief that the Wishes and Prayers of such devotees would be fulfilled sooner than later. There are multifarious murals of Lord Ganesha on the walls of this Temple. This Temple also has Sub Shrine for Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, Goddess Laxmi and Lord Sai Baba.
