Sree Ayyappan and Sree Goshala Krishnan Temple was started in a small manner way back in 1993 - 1994 in Ponnambalam Salai in a busy KK Nagar area of Chennai. The Temple is located very close to KK Nagar Post Office. This is a West facing Temple and the Presiding Deity is Swami Iyyappan whose Sanctum Sanctorum too faces West. The Moolasthanam of Swami Ayyappan is built with solid black granite stones and Lord Ayyappan is seen in a seated posture Blessing His Devotees. The Moolasthanam does not have the usual orthodox 18 steps like other Iyyappan Temples, instead there are 5 to 6 steps after which the Presiding Deity is placed on an elevated podium. Similarly the Sanctum Sanctorum of Sri Goshala Krishnan too is West facing. All the pillars of Sree Goshala Krishnan's Shrine bear the Idols of Dasavatharam. The other two Shrines of Sri Ganapathy and Sri Bhagawathy Amman are East facing but they otherwise look similar to the Shrines of Swami Ayyappan and Sri Goshala Krishnan. The Temple Office which is located within the Temple premises has various counters for different Sevas like Pushpanjali, Neivilakku, Archana, Neeranjanam, Bhagyasookthana Pushpanjali, Sahasranama Archana, Malar Neiveidhyam, Thrimadhuram, Vellachoru, Nei Payasam, Paal Payasam, Special Pooja, Annaprasanam, Palelaneerpaneer Abhishegam, Thrikala Pooja, Ellu Payasam and Birthday Pooja. All the Shrines of this Temple have been built with black stones with a Mangalorian or Kerala Type roofing. Gold and Silver platings could be found on the threshold of every Moolasthanam and on the Deities. The Temple has facilities for Thulabaaram and kids can be weighed and an equivalent weight of them in kind could be donated to the Temple. Coconuts cannot be broken at all places. The Temple have earmarked a particular place where coconuts could be smashed and offered to God. Two Mini Halls are available here and Divine functions and other small religious functions could be held with a seating capacity of nearly 100. The Temple has a Madapalli or Temple Kitchen and there is a spacious Dining Hall where Annadhanam are served to the Devotees. The Temple has a mini Stage for conducting Dance and Divine Music Concerts. Two huge bronze oil lamps are lit daily and they are so eye appealing to the Devotees. This Temple is famous in this locality since Irumudi Ritual is done here by seasoned Guruji. The Temple is well guarded by a compound wall and a gate. The Temple is fully covered with CCTV. This Temple is kept spick and span and is well managed by the Ayyappa Sath Sangam.
