Sri Dharmasastha Iyyappa Swamy Temple is located at the fag end of the street in which Sri Prasanna Varadaraja Perumal is situated in Shoolagiri. This Aiyappan Temple has a West facing Welcome Arch and on the top of it the Idol of Lord Ayyappan is seen in the centre. He is flanked on either side by Ganapathy and Murugan. The rear of the Welcome Arch bears the coloured Idols of Shiva, Parvathy, Ganapathy, Murugan, Naradhar and Agasthiyar. All the above mentioned Idols are gorgeously painted. Devotees may have to climb around 10 steps beneath the Welcome Arch and on either side of these steps there are a pair of Elephant Idols. In the ground floor there are three East facing Sub Shrines for Manja Matha Devi, Murugan and Ganapathy. There is a huge North facing Idol of Abinaya Anjaneyar who looks resplendent in the black Vigraha form. He is seen holding a Mace in His left hand while His right hand displays the Abhaya Hasta posture. There are two black Elephants on either side of Him. On top of this Sub Shrine there are lovely Idols of Rama, Seetha, Laksmana and Anjaneya and the colours painted on them is dazzling. Next to this is another North facing Idol of Sage Agasthiyar. There is a East facing Sub Shrine for Naga Devathas and Navagrahams. There is a much hallowed 18 Padi which are made out of Panchaloga Metal. Normal Devotees are not allowed to step on them. Only those with Irumudi are allowed to go through these 18 steps and reach the Sanctum Sanctorum of Sastha in the first floor. In the ground floor there is a Sub Shrine for Karuppasamy and Karupayee to the right of the 18 steps. To the left of it is another Sub Shrine for Kaduthasamy. Devotees can reach the Moolasthanam of Sri Iyyappa Swami which is located in the first floor through another staircase. In the Moolasthanam Sri Ayyappa Swamy is seen in a sitting posture and Is East facing. There is a huge Dwajasthambam or Flag Staff facing the Moolasthanam. The threshold of the Moolasthanam looks glittering with its gold plating. The two black Idols of Dwara Baalakas look very impressive. On either side of the Moolasthanam there is a pair of Yaali Vigraham and next to it is an East facing Ganapathy and a Naga Devatha respectively. Just above the Sanctum Sanctorum there are coloured Idols for Ganapathy, Iyyappan and Murugan. There is a multi pillared Mandapam facing the Iyyappa Swami Moolasthanam and a few hundreds could be seated there on festive occasions. Many come to this Temple on New Moon or Amavasya Days to Moolamandira Homam to get rid of their Sani Dosham and Navagraha Doshams.
