Dhamal is a small village very close to Baluchettychathram few metres away from the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway. The Temple is called Sri Thirumal Azhaghi Samedha Sri Dhamodhara Perumal Temple. The Garudalwar flanked on either side is found close to the main gate. The Presiding Deity here is Damodara Perumal whereas His Consort is called as Thirumalazaghi. The Temple is East facing but without any Rajagopuram or an Arch. The Sanctum Sanctorum is slightly elevated at a height of 4 to 5 feet above the ground level. Moolavar Dhamodhara Perumal could be seen along with His Consorts Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. There is a marking on the abdomen of the Moolavar Idol and this denotes to the markings created on the abdomen of Lord Krishna due to the Silver Odiyanam or Silver Belt tied to His waist. Lord Hanuman and Sudhashana are also seen in the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Thirumal Azhagi Thaayar Sannadhi is on the right of the Moolavar Sannadhi. The Temple has a very clean surrounding with a Garden or Nandhavanam. There are Sub Shrines for Sri Andal, the Azhawars, and Anjaneyar. A special mention about the Bhattachariar here is necessary for his devotion. Since Damal is reachable by bus from the Temple town of Kancheepuram a steady flow of Devotees keep coming here on all auspicious days to see the Temple and get the Blessings of Dhamodhara Perumal. Maasi Magam and Panguni Uthiram are celebrated in a grand manner. Since the Temple is located in a residential locality it does not have any marked cr parking area. The Temple follows the Vadagalai Sampradayam.
