The actual name of the Temple is Sri Gnanaprasunambika Samedha Sri Kalahasteeswara Swamy Temple but some locals refer it as Sri Kallakasteswarar Temple. The Temple has a colourful East facing three tiered Rajagopuram. There is a small Welcome Arch and on top of it the Idols of Shivan, Parvathy, Ganapathy, Murugan with two Nandhi Vaahanams on either side are seen. On the right of the Rajagopuram there is another colourful Idol of a Nandhi Vaahanam which has been gorgeously painted in various colours giving it an appealing look to the Devotees who see it. Like other Temples there is a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthambam and a Nandhi Vaahanam which is placed within a four pillared Mandapam. All three of them face the Moolasthanam. At the threshold of the Moolasthanam is a pair of two colourful Dwara Baalakas manning the gateway with mace in the hands. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Kalahastheeswara Swamy is seen as a East facing Shiva Lingam. He is said to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The most attractive part of the Temple is that they have made a wood work at the threshold of the Sanctum Sanctorum and have placed 108 Shiva Lingams in it making it look so amazing to the Devotees. The Ambal here is known as Sri Gnanaprasunambikai alias Sri Gnanambikai and Her Shrine is South facing. At the threshold of Her Shrine there are Idols of two colourful Dwara Baalakis. Though an ancient Temple it is underwent a recent Kumbabishekam and hence all the paintings, wood work, flooring, tiles etc have been refurbished and done in an excellent manner. The Temple authorities have taken all pains and have made arrangements to draw the Images of Pillayar, Murugan, Shiva, Parvathy and all the 63 Images of the entire Naayanmaars. A cursory glance at the above would keep any Devotee spell bound. There are Sub Shrines for Suryan, Chandiran, Poorna Pushkala Samedha Iyyappan (Ayyanar), Sri Viswanathar, Sri Annapoorani, Valli Devasena Samedha Subramaniyar, Sri Gajalakshmi (Mahalakshmi) and Sri Durgai The most interesting factors in these Sub Shrines that there are 3 Vinayagar Idols in one Sub Shrine. The Vinayagar of the centre is Valampuri Vinayagar whereas the other 2 Vinayagars flanking the central Vinayagar are normal Vinayagars. In a nutshell there are therefore 3 Vinayagars in a single Sub Shrine. There is a Navagraha Sannadhi in one corner of the Temple and this attracts lots of Devotees. This Temple becomes famous for conducting 60th, 65th, 70th birthday functions etc. There is a Yaagasaalai and a small Nandhavanam attached to the Temple. Many say that Praying in this Temple is almost equivalent to going and Praying in Sri Kaalahasthi. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is a Vilva Maram whereas the Pushkarani is known as Swarna Thadagam. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner. This Temple is said to be Vaayu Sthalam and also a Punya Sthalam for removing Kaala Sarpa Dosham.
