The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Kodandaramar and He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Sitha. This Temple is built by facing East and consist of Balipeedam, Deebastambam. Here Lord Rama can be seen in a Pattabhisheka Kolam. Inside the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Rama can be seen along with His Consort Sitha and His Brother Lakshmana. Lord Hanuman, Bharathan, Sathrukkanan can also be seen inside the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Vimanam of this Temple is Known as Nagara Vimanam. There are Isold of Lakshmi Narashimar, Kalinga Nardhanar and Lakshmi Narayanar. Initially This place was called as Unam Maikkum Cholai which is now known as Unamancheri. It is believed that this Temple was built by Vijayanagara Kings in the 15th Century AD. Recently Maha Kumbhabhishekam was conducted on 25th April 2012. There is a Sacred Tank just behing the Temple Complex.
