This Temple is also called Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple or Pattabiramar Temple. It is a East facing Temple located on the Main Road in Ayothiapattinam on the outskirts of Salem Town. The Temple has been praised and sung high by Valmiki, Bharadwaj and Vasishtar. Though this Temple has not been included as one among the 108 Divya Desam it has been widely accepted and classified as an Abhimana Kshethram as per the traditions of the Vaishnavites. The Temple has a five tiered East facing Rajagopuram. There is a tall stone Dwajasthambam and a Bali Peedam and beyond it is a Garudalwar Sannadhi facing the Moolasthanam. Just beneath the Rajagopuram are two Idols of Vinayagar and Anjaneyar. They have erected a temporary tin sheet roofing near the Rajagopuram for the sake of Devotees. Beneath it is a Devasthana Flower Shop. Heading towards the Moolasthanam there is another metallic Dwajasthambam, a Bali Peedam and a pair of Divine Feet known as Ramar Paadam. There is a vast multi pillared Mandapam and each pillar in this Mandam is embosed with a beautiful Yaali or similar looking Divine Idols which makes it look dazzling to the eyes of the Devotees. In this Mandapam there is a huge image of Maha Vishnu since Lord Rama happens to be an incarnation of Maha Vishnu. At the threshold of the Moolasthanam are two black coloured Dwara Baalaka Idols known as Jayan and Vijayan. In the East facing Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Rama is seen with His Bow and Arrows and He is found seated along with and they are found to cross their legs. Along with Rama and Seetha, Barathan, Sathraugan, Lakshmana and Anjaneyar. It is construed that Rama was crowned as a Pattabisheka Ramar here and the actual Pattabishekam in Ayodhya was done later. Ramar, Seetha, Lakshmana, Barathan, Sathrugan, Anjaneyar, Ramanujar etc are seen as Urchavamoorthis. A Sub Shrine for Vishwaksenar is seen closeby. They have placed a few Divine Feet or Divine Sandal for the sake of Devotees. Around the Moolavar Koshtam the following Idols are seen and they are Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar, Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar, Perumal along with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi, Sri Maha Dhanvanthri and Vishnu Durgai. There is a Sub Shrine for Chrakrathalwar and to the rear of Him is Yoga Narasimhar and this Sub Shrine attracts a lot of Devotees and admirers. There is a Thumbikai Alwar Sannadhi on an elevated podium near the Vanni Maram and close to it there are Idols for Naga Devathas. In the outer peripheral there is a Sub Shrine in which the Idols of Poigai Alwar, Boothath Alwar, Pei Alwar, Thirumazhisai Alwar, Nammalwar, Periyalwar, Madhurakavi Alwar, Kulasekara Alwar, Thondaradipodi Alwar, Thirupaanalwar, Thirumangai Alwar, Ramanujar and Aadhi Ramar could be seen. All the Alwars have been placed in tandem and they are South facing. Close to the Alwar Sannadhi is a Sub Shrine for Anjaneyar who is seen South facing and in a standing posture. The Andal Sannadhi follows next and it is the last Sannadhi of this Temple. The entire flooring in the outer peripheral is neatly cemented. The Temple has an Office and a Madapalli functioning within its premises. A small Nandavanam too is maintained. The Sthala Viruksham is a Punga Maram and the Theertham is Kaveri Muthar. Sri Rama Navami, Hanumath Jayanthi, All Purattasi Saturdays Narasimha Jayanthi are some of the festivals celebrated in a grand manner. Many consider this Temple as Dhakshina Ayodhya or Thennaga Ayodhya.
