Arulmigu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Anthili is located very near to Arakandanallur. The road next to Arakandanallur Police Station leads us to the Temple but it is full of mud and potholes. There is a temporary Welcome Arch made out of tin sheet leading Devotees to the Temple. Sometimes the road resembles a forest terrian and at times it resembles a rocky terrian. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar. The road leading to the Temple stops at the rear of the Temple and Devotees may have to circumambulate a few feet and reach the Temple which is actually East facing. The entire Temple structure has been built on a huge rock. It is said that Garudar felt let down in both the instances of 1) Gajendra Moksham and 2) Narasimha Vaibhavam. Hence Garuda did severe Penance and Lord Narsimhar came down to Garudan to explain that nothing was done intentionally. Garuda felt happy and even today when Devotees see the Temple from its rear it is as though the Garudar is seen flapping His wings and that the Temple has been built over it. The entire Temple premises has been built on an elevated rock and Devotees may have to climb 10 to 15 steps to reach the Temple. There is a stone Dwajasthamabam opposite to the Temple. The Presiding Deity is Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar who is seen along with His Consort. His Consort is seen sitting on the lap of the Presiding Deity. The actual entrance to the Moolasthanam is too small and roughly estimated to be 3 feet wide and 5 feet in height so that even the Temple Purohit has to bow his head so that he could reach the Deity during Pooja times. At the threshold of the Moolasthanam are two huge sized colourful Dwara Baalakas. The entire Temple complex stands rock solid on multiple pillars. It is said that this Temple is more the 1600 years old. This Temple is very unique since Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy had come down here on the request of Garudalwar. This Anthili Temple is one among the 8 most famous Narasimhar Temples in Tamil Nadu. The other seven are Singirikudi, Parikkal, Poovarasnkuppam, Singaperumalkovil, Chinthalavadi, Sholinghur and Namakkal. A new Anjaneya Temple has come up on the rear of this Narasimhar Temple and this was installed by Vyasarajan. Every Swathi Nakshatram day is very important in this Temple. Radha Sapthami, Vaikunta Ekadesi and Narasimha Jayanthi are celebrated in a grand manner. As a matter of tradition this Temple is taken care of in all Pooja matters by the Madhwa Community. Srikanth Archargar has to be complimented for his hard working perseverance. Devotees willing to visit this Temple could contact him in his mobile given below so that they have a guaranteed Darshan.
