This Temple is located on the outskirts of Tezpur city, and is believed to have been built around 400 years ago. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Goddess Sri Maa Bhairabhi who is considered as an incarnation of Goddess Durga Devi. This Temple is considered as one of the prominent Shakthi Peedams of Goddess Durga in Assam. The place around where the Temple is located is known as Bhairabi Devalaya. This Temple is built facing the Kolia Bhomora Setu on the confleunce of River Brahmaputra and River Bharali. There is a stone carving here which is so eye captivating and is considered as a beautiful art work belonging to the 9th Century AD. The Temple has been chosen and built in a picturesque ambience with a beautiful backdrop of Bamuni Hills. The Temple belongs to the Borthakur's Family who comprise of Messrs. Dilip Borthakur, Barenya Ranjan Borthakur and Aditya Prakash Borthakur. Devotees who come to this Temple never fail to sacrifice Goats, Ducks, Pigeons etc as their offering to Goddess Bhairavi to immensely please Her. Durga Pooja is celebrated in a grand manner and it is not only the Devotees who attend the festival but also visitors and tourists who come to Tezpur make it a point to attend the festivities and get the Blessings of Goddess Maa Bhairabi.
