This Temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and its located on a hill top in Mailam near Tindivanam. The small ghat road leading to the Temple and the Temple itself is excellently maintained by the Temple Administration which is said to be controlled by Bommayarpalayam Mutt. This Temple could be reached by 2 ways. There is a foot hill with stairs but Devotees ought to be careful with Monkeys which could pluck things when one walks all the way uphill. The 2nd is through a Ghat Road where they collect a small toll for 2 and 4-wheelers to go up. The Ghat Road is well maintained with ample security guards posted everywhere In reality this is a Shiva Temple with Viswanathar and Visalakshi in the Sanctum Sanctorum, but still importance is given only to Lord Murugan. As you enter the Temple the Main Sannidhi is facing East with Murugan and Valli Devesena. To the extreme left is the Vinayakar Sannidhi and between these two is the Jeeva Samadhi of Bala Siddhar. There is a separate Navagraha Sannidhi in the Temple. The Temple Administration has to be appreciated for the ample Car parking and 2-Wheeler that they have provided. There are shops on top of the Temple and also on the foot hill below leading to the Temple. Head Tonsuring facilities for Kids and Adults are found at the foot hill only whereas Ear Boring facilities are available at the hilltop Temple itself. There are a few Restaurants and Lodges for the out station Devotees to eat and stay during their visit here.

NB: Nowadays Mailam Murugan Temple has become too busy and too crowded during marriage season and it is alleged that there is very poor phone response to phone calls made by hundreds of Devotees enquiring about Temple Timing, Abhishekam, Ear Boring Details, Tonsuring Details, Procedure for conducting functions, payments etc and hence in recent days many such Devotees tend to perform Weddings and other Functions in another similar Murugan Temple located in Theerthagiri Hills very near to Vellore Town. The authorities at Theerthagiri Hilltop Murugan Temple could be contacted for making wedding arrangements there.
