The Temple is regarded as one of the Nava Narasimha Kshethras. The Presiding Deity is Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Main Deity is a Swayambhumurthy and is also called as Chatravati Narasimha Swamy or Somaseela Narasimha Swamy.  Here, He Blesses His Devotees with His Consort Goddess Chenchu Lakshmi.  The Shrine for Goddess Chenchu Lakshmi is located on a steep hillock closeby.  Since the Lord is found on a huge rock this Temple derives the name Penusila.  The Temple is built close to River Kandaleru from were a waterfalls too originates. There is a Welcome Arch leading to the Temple. There is a huge Idol of Garudan and a separate Shrine for Lord Anjaneya Swamy.  There is an Idol of Lord Krishna with the snake Kaalingan. The Temple has a sacred tank and taking a dip is considered very holy and is believed to cure all ailments of any Devotee. There are few mandapams which could be used on different occasions.  Choultries too are available for Devotees coming from far off places. There are a row of petty shops and eateries.  There is ample car parking space here.  The entire Temple complex with the backdrop of the hilly mountain terrain is picturesque and a treat to watch for any Devotee.
