There is a Welcome Arch built which leads us to the Temple. Sri Souriraja Perumal Temple has a huge East facing five tiered Rajagopuram. There is a four pillared Mandapam built on the road and this bridges the Rajagopuram to the Sacred Tank of the Temple. The Pushkarani or the Sacred Tank too is huge and it has a huge Anjaneyaswamy Idol on top of it. Apart from this Idol and Image of Ramar Pattabishekam, Dasavatharam etc have been drawn in an eye appealing manner. Within the Rajagopuram is a Navagraham which is believed to have been installed there by Indran Himself. This includes the 12 Raasi's in a Chakra Viyugam. Further away from the Rajagopuram is a Bali Peedam and  a Dwajasthambam. Beyond that is another East facing three tiered Rajagopuram close to which is another smaller Bali Peedam. The Temple is unique since it has a Pakshirajan Sannadhi comprising of two Garudalwars. The Presiding Deity of this Temple is actually Sri Neelamega Perumal which is East facing and in a standing posture along with Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi whereas Sri Sowriraja Perumal is only the Urchavar in the Sanctum Sanctorum. Sowriraja Perumal is seen with a Prayoga Chakkram and a Wig or Sowrimudi. Outside the Moolasthanam is a pair of Black Dwarabaalaga Idols. There is a Sub Shrine for Chakravarthy Thirumagan which is otherwise known as Sri Ramar Sannadhi. This Temple is one among the Pancha Kanna Kshethrams while the other four  are 1) Thirukannangudi Loganatha Perumal Temple, 2)  Kabisthalam Gajendra Varadhan Temple, 3) Thirukannamangai Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple and 4) Thirukkovilur Ulagalantha Perumal Temple. There is no Sorga Vaasal in this Temple as it is construed that those visiting this Temple will obviously reach Vaigundam. There are Sub Shrines for Alwars, Narasimhar, Lakshmi Narasimhar, Pillalogachariar, Nathamunigal, Thirupaanaalwar, Madhurakavialwar, Thondaradipodialwar, Kulasekaraalwar, Nammalwar, Manavaala Mamunigal, Thirumazhisaialwar, Peialwar, Boothathalwar, Poigaialwar and Perialwar. There are Sub Shrines for Muniyodharar, Ubarisaavasu Sannadhi and Vibeeshanalawar Sannadhi. The Thaayar Sannadhi is in a separate multi pillared Mandapam and the walls of the Mandapam are painted with the images of Ashtalakshmi. At the threshold of the Thaayar Sannadhi two Images depicting the Dwara Baalagis have been drawn and kept instead of the Dwara Baalagi Idols. The Thaayar is called as Mahalaskhmi alias Kannapura Thaayar and the Urchavar is called as Gajalakshmi alias Kannapura Thaayar. In the outer peripheral of the Temple there is a Sub Shrine for Dwaraka Krishnan where Lord Krishna is found along with Goddess Radha and both of them are seen similar to North Indian Temples since their Idols are made out of hite marble stones. Similarly there is an Aandal Sub Shrine too in the outer peripheral. The Temple is known as Saptha Punya Kshethram. The Temple Tank or Pushkarani is known as Nithya Pushkarani. The Temple attracts innumberable number of Devotees during the Masi Mahothsavam and Vaikasi Brahmmothsavam. There is ample parking space close to the Temple for vehicular parking.
