This Temple is either called as Sri Sukshmapureeswarar Temple or Sri Mangalanathar Temple. This Temple is supposed to bring in Padhavi in Tamil which means good Posting or Rank in a Job. It is also believed that this Temple is a Angaragan (Sevvai) Arul Tharum Sthalam. The Temple has a three tiered East facing colourful Rajagopuram. There is a small Sub Shrine for Vinayagar which faces the Rajagopuram. Beyond it is a Bali Peedam, a Dwajasthamabam and a Nandhi Vaahanam which is placed beneath a four pillared Mandapam facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Presiding Deity has various names such as Sri Sukshumapureeswarar, Sri Mangalanathar, Sri Chirukudeesar and Sri Kalyana Sundareswarar. It is believed that the Shiva Lingam of the Presiding Deity has Thumb and other Finger impressions since it has been casted out of wet clay or we mud. He is found as a East facing Shiva Lingam in the Sanctum Sanctorum and just before His threshold is a pair of Dwara Baalakas. It is said that Abhishekam is not being done to the Moolavar of this Sannadhi but instead He is smeared with Sandalwood Oil and Javvadhu. There is a small Vinayagar Idol with another Nandhi Vaahanam facing the Moolasthanam. The Ambal here occupies a separate South facing Shrine where She is in a standing posture and known as Sri Mangalanayagi. Around the Koshtam of the Moolasthanam the Idols of Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Maha Vishnu, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar are seen. There are Sub Shrines for Managala Vinayagar, Valli Devasena Samedha Subramaniyar, Suryan, Chandran, Bhairavar etc. The Temple has an exclusive Shrine for Mangala Angaragan Sannadhi and He is found in a South facing posture. It is customary that Mangala Angaragan draws a lot of Devotees on auspicious days. There is an exclusive Navagraha Sannadhi in the outer periupheral of the Temple which is another added attraction here. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is Vilva Tree and the Sacred Tank is a Lotus Tank situated outside the Temple and the Pushkarani is named as Surya Theertham or Mangala Theertham. It has to mentioned here that the great Saint Thirugnana Sammandhar had heaped lavish praises of this Temple in the Hymns rendered by him. Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aippasi Annabishegam, Arudhra Dharisanam, Masi Magam, Pradhosham, Navarathri, Maha Shivarathiri are some of the festivals are celebrated in a grand manner.
