Sundaramoorthy Swami Temple in Tirunavalur is built close to Sri Bakthajaneswarar Temple. Sundarar as he is affectionately called is well known along with Appar @ Thirunavukkarasar and Sambandar to form a great trio among the Saivaite Saints. It is moreso here since Thirunavalur happens to be the birth place of Saint Sundaramurthy alias Sundarar. This Temple has been built 10 years ago from 2023 in the same place where Saint Sundarar was born. The Idol of Sundarar has been place in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple and he is worshipped as Arulmigu Embiran Nambi Aroorar. On entering the Moolasthanam the Idols of the parents of Sundarar finds a place on the left side whereas the Idol of the King Narsinga Munaiyaraiyar who was the foster father of Sundarar is found on the right side of the Moolasthanam. The 12 pillars found in the Moolasthanam bear the images of all the 63 Nayanmaras. There is a Mandapam on the outer peripheral of the Temple where the life story of Saint Sundaramoorthy Swamigal is etched. The Temple is well lit and illuminated with dazzling lights. The Temple bears testimony to the modern architecture due to its black granite wall all around. The Main Door leading to the Temple is made of wood and is carved with eye captivating images. It is believed that this Temple has been funded and built by Sivanadiyars hailing from Bhavani near Erode. The Temple Purohit does a Naalu Kaala Poojai daily and there is a Special Alankara Poojai done daily in the evening between 6 PM to 7.30 PM. The Sthala Viruksham of this Temple is said to be Naaval Maram.
