Sri Thulasiswarar Temple is located in a far flung hamlet called Kolathur which is beyond Singaperumal Koil. The Temple is located in an extreme end of the hamlet and it has a serene ambience. This Temple is supposed to be more than 1500 years old. It is said that this is one of the rarest Temples in which Sage Agasthiya is supposed to have visited and have offered Thulasi Pooja to Lord Shiva which has never been a common phenomenon elsewhere in other Shiva Temples. The Temple has a small compound wall fixed with an iron gate which is North facing. The Temple does not have either a Rajagopuram or a Dwajasthambam. The entire Temple is situated at an elevated place and Devotees may have to climb 7 to 8 steps to reach the Temple premises. In the Sanctum Sanctorum Lord Thulaseeswarar is seen East facing in the form of a Shiva LIngam and He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Facing the Moolasthanam is a black Nandhi Vaahanam and on the doorsteps of the Moolasthanam is a pair of black Dwara Baalakas. His Consort here is known as Vilvanayaki Ambal and She is seen facing South and in a standing posture.  At the rear left of the Nandhi is a solitary Agasthiyar Idol as though He is sitting and meditating and close to this is a Vinayagar Idol who is East facing. At the right rear of the Nandhi Vaahanam there are Idols for Suryan, Chandran and Sage Agasthiyar is seen along with them in a standing posture. All the Idols barring the Vinayagar are West facing towards the Moolasthanam. This Temple has an exclusive Shrine for Kalyana Durgai who is seen North facing and there is a Simha Vaahanam and Bali Peedam facing Her Shrine. Many Devotees who are devoid of marriage and those married couple who do not have kids come and Pray and it is believed that their wishes are soon fulfilled. In the outer peripheral there is a Sub Shrine for Vinayagar and Valli Devasena Samedha Subramaniyar. In this Shrine Subramaniyar is seen seated on a Peacock. Around the Koshtam of the Moolasthanam there are Idols for Narthana Ganapathy, Dhakshinamoorthy, Lingothbhavar, Brahmma, Durgai and Chandikeshwarar. There is a Shrine for Bhairavar in which He is seen South facing. There is an exclusive Navagraha Sannadhi which is sheilded with a tinned roofing. There is a oil lamp stand and oil lamps could be lit in it. The Temple has Neem and a Peepal Tree which are seen together and beneath it are a few Nagadevatha Idols. The Temple's Sacred Tank is located outside and opposite to the Temple premises. This Temple has a Ghoshala with a few cattles in them.
