The Presiding Deity of the Temple is Sri Vaidya Veeraraghava Perumal who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He Blesses His Devotees along with His Consort Goddess Kanakavalli Thayaar who is also called as Vasumathi. Lord Veeraraghava is seen in Reclining or Pallikonda posture. This Temple is one of the 108 important Divya Desams dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that all ailments of Devotees visiting this Temple are cured. Hence the Devotees bring and donate Steel and Silver replica of their infected organ to this Temple in order to show their respect to Lord Veeraraghava Perumal. This is the only Vaishnavaite Temple that is believed to have Healing Properties because of which this Temple is considered Vaitheeswarar Temple of Vaishnavism. This Temple was built by the Pallava Kings around the 8th century but the local poeple believe that this Temple is around 5000 years old. This Temple follows Vadakalai style of Vaishnavaite tradition. This Temple draws huge number of Devotees on New Moon days, Navarathri, Vaikunda Ekadesi. The Chitrai Brahmotsavam a 10 Day festival is celebrated in a grand manner. There is a Sacred Tank or Pushkarani made available to the Devotees for their holy dip.
