The full name of the Temple is Sri Perundevi Thaayar Samedha Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple and it is located in Arcot on the River Paalar which comes under Ranipet District. This is a East facing Temple with five tiers of coloured Rajagopuram. The Temple is believed to be more than 1500 years old and built during the Pallava period. Midway through it was damaged during the Moghul Rule and lay in shambles during the British India period. Later the Sri Vaishnavas in and around Arcot evinced keen interest in this Temple and rebuilt it and brought it to this level. Beneath the East facing five tiered Rajagopuram there is an Idol of Thumbikai Alwar or Ganapathy. Facing the Sanctum Sanctorum are two Bali Peedams, a Flag Staff or a Dwajasthamabam and there is a Garudalwar Sannadhi. There are two majestic Dwara Baalakas on either side of the Moolasthanam. Sri Varadaraja Perumal is seen in a standing posture on top of a Tortoise and a Lotus in the Moolasthanam and He is an incarnation of Maha Vishnu. Within the same Moolasthanam there is a Urchavar Idol of Sri Varadaraja Perumal flanked by Sri Devi and Bhoo Devi. Adjacent to the Moolasthanam is the Shrine of Goddess Perundevi Thaayar and She is East facing. There is a East facing Sub Shrine for Rukmani Venkatakrishnan, Sri Parthasarathy Perumal. There are Idols of Macchavatharam, Koormavatharam and Varahavatharam around the Parthasarathy Perumal Sub Shrine. There is a Sub Shrine in which Chakkarathalwar and Yoga Narasimhar are found back to back. A few Temple Vaahanam are stacked here under a temporary tinned roofing. There is a West facing Sub Shrine for Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar and another Sub Shrine for Aandal who is East facing. There is an exclusive Shrine for Lord Rama in which Goddess Seetha, Lakshmana and Anjaneyar too are found. Facing the Shrine of Lord Rama is an Anjaneya Sub Shrine.
