Sri Varahi Amman Temple is located slightly away from the National Highway in a small hamlet called Veppangal in Pallikonda. It is also known as Tristhalam or Tristhala Vaarahi Kshethram. It is a West facing newly built Temple awaiting Kumbabishekam. There are around 3 entrances on the Western side. In of those entrances there is a huge Varahar Idol installed in the centre and flanked on either side by Lord Brahmma and Lord Shiva. On entering the premises there is a huge eye captivating black Idol of Ganapathy placed to the rear of the Varahar Idol. This Ganapathy Idol is East facing. The threshold of the Ganapathy Shrine is beautifully gold plated and looks so eye appealing. Behind this Ganapathy Idol there is a small space in which the Agni Varahi Idol has been installed. Devotees may have to bow their head and reach here because the roofing is too low to stand erect. Facing the Main Temple there are few East facing Idols of Sri Ragavendrar, Sri Ramanujar, Sri Adhi Shankarar, Buddhar, Mahaveerar, Dharma Sastha and Sage Agasthiyar. Close to these Idols is a huge North facing 10 headed Serpant Idol placed on a pedestal. Proceeding towards the main Temple there is a small Varahi Amman Idol placed on a swing and facing it is a small Homa Kundam. The entire Oonjal Mandapam stands on four pillars with a roofing. Next to this is a North facing Vaarahi Amman Idol in a sitting posture with 8 hands. This sitting Vaarahi Amman with 8 hands is known as Jala Vaarahi Amman. There are several oblong grinding stones kept close to this Vaarahi Amman. Devotees coming to this Temple make it a habit to grind Turmeric or Curcuma and smear it all over the Vaarahi Amman with their fond request. It is widely believed that the wishes of those Devotees would be fulfilled very soon. On the left is a Sub Shrine for Lord Shiva in which He is in the form of a South facing Shiva Lingam. Close to this is a huge tin sheet roofing under which is a Sub Shrine for Maha Vishnu. This Maha Vishnu is West facing and in a standing posture. Right from the Temple's main entrance till the Main Shrine of Vaarahi Amman the entire pathway is neatly cemented and 48 Homa Kumdam are kept in an orderly manner. Closer to the Main Shrine they have erected a colourful Idol of Lord Shiva who is seen along with Goddess Parvathi and Nandhi Bhagwan. On the other side is a colourful Idol of Pallikonda Ranganathar who is seen in a reclining posture under the Aadhi Seshan. Pallikonda Ranganathar is seen along with Sree Devi and Bhoo Devi. Lord Brahmma too is seen here along with them. There is a huge black Sri Chakkaram or Maha Meru which is made out of granite stones and this is placed a few metres ahead of the Presiding Deity. The Main Temple is a newly constructed building in which there are two Yaali Idols on either side of the Presiding Deity. In the West facing Sanctum Sanctorum Sri Vaarahi Amman stands as tall as 16 feet black Vigraham. The Presiding Deity has four hands and in each one of them She carries a Chaakaram, a Lotus, a Book and a Trident which is called Trisoolam in Tamil. The threshold looks glittering with its gold plated covering. Devotees could circumambulate the Presiding Deity through the inner peripheral and also the outer peripheral. There are several coloured Vaarahi Amman Idols which are placed on different Vaahanams like the Elephant, Lion, Garudan, Serpant, Horse and a Bull. At the rear of the Presiding Deity there is a Sub Shrine built on the outer peripheral. This Sub Shrine has 3 black Idols of Saraswathi, Devi Karumariamman and Lakshmi which are East facing. There is a modern Temple Kitchen within the Temple premises in which several Devotees could be fed with Annadhanam on a daily basis. Theipirai Panchami, Valarpirai Panchami, Ammavasai and Pournami are considered as very auspicious days and during these days special Poojas are performed to the Vaarahai Amman. The fame of this new Temple is spreading far and wide gradually due to which there is a steady surge of Devotees here. Since the Kumbabishekam has not been done there are just a few temporary shops close to the main entrance.
