This Temple is also known as Veerataneswarar Temple and is located in Keelaiyur in Kallakurichi District and situated close to Thirukoilur. The Temple is situated on the banks of South Pennai River.  The Presiding Deity is Veeratteshwarar who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.  His Consort is Sivanandhavalli in Tamil and Brahannayaki in Sanskrit.  The Temple is well compounded with an Arch.  On entering,  the Ambal Sannadhi is constructed as a separate Shrine and next to it is the Shivan Sannadhi who is in the form of a Swayambhu Lingam. A Dwajasthambam and a huge stone Nandhi is found at the entry point of the Sivan Temple.   An Annadhana Koodam is located between these two Shrines.  A Vasantha Mandapam is found opposite to the main Temple.  There are sub shrines for Vinayagar, Sree Perumal, Andhahara Samhara Gnanamoorthy, Natarajar, Panchamoorthy, Shanmugar, Gajalakshmi, Bhairavar, Somaskandar, Guru, Sukran, Durgai, and Dhakshinamoorthy.  A  Navagraha enclosure is also found within the premises.  There are Ashta Lingams too.  On the rear of the Main Temple there are several statues of  Naga Devathas or Serpant Kings neatly arranged.   The Temple has a beautiful and well maintainted Nandavanam.  The Temple  is said to be around 2000 years old and built by the late Chola Kings. There is a huge car parking available here.  The Theertham of this Temple is River South Pennai and the Sthala Viruksham is Sarakondrai Tree.
