Sri Vembadi Amman Aalayam in Muttukadu is located on the  ECR (East Coast Road) 32 Kms away from Chennai. The Presiding Deity here is Sri Vembadi Amman.  A Welcome Arch is located close to the ECR Road leading us to this small Temple. Sri Vembadi Amman occupies the Centre spot in the Welcome Arch and is flanked by a few Lions.  New Moon Days and Full Moon Days are the main attraction of this Temple and during these days the Temple attracts lots os local Devotees from nearby Uthandi, Sholinganallur, Kovalam, Semmanchery etc.  Special Prayers are offered in the evening around 6PM on Pournami.  Lord Ganesha is found in a separate Shrine close to the Welcome Arch.  The Presiding Deity occupies the Main Shrine outside which a Bali Peedam and Metalic Trident (Trisoolam) is kept.  There is a Arasa Maran or a Peepal Tree beneath which Lord Nataraja and Lord Vinayaka are Prayed.  A Paambu Puthu or a Ant Hill is found at the rear of the Temple for the Serpant King Nagaraja.  A small Shrine of Aadhi Vembadi Amman is found next to the Paambhu Puthu.  This Temple attracts a lot of local Villagers more than anyone.  The local Purohit who offers Prayer here resides in a house within the Temple Complex.
