The Presiding Deities of this Temple are Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma together. This place is named as Suchindram since the world Suchi means Purity in Sanskrit. The inscriptions of this Temple showcase that Rulers of all three major Kingdoms of Tamil Nadu namely Cheran, Cholan and Pandiyan worked hard in building this Temple. The Temple is built by following the Kerala and Tamil Nadu Architectural style since this Temple was renovated by the Rulers of Travancore in the 17th century. There is a 22 feet Hanuman Idol installed in this Temple and it is believed that this Idol was buried beneath the ground when Tippu Sulthan tried to attack and plunder Suchindram. Later this Idol was rediscovered in the year 1930 and brought out. Many Devotees from all parts of India visit This Temple since everyone is Blessed by all the three Gods under a single roof.
