The Presiding Deity of this Temple is Lord Murugan. This Temple was built by Sri Subramaniya Samaj which was formed by Murugan Devotees settled in Mumbai in the year 1945. Though this Temple does not have any real time attachment with Lord Murugan's Life History, this Temple is termed as The Seventh Padai Veedu of Lord Murugan by it's local Devotees though this Temple located far away from Murugan's Mother land Tamil Nadu. To fulfill the thirst of South Indian Tradition many Grand Nadaswara gathering, Harikatha, and Classical Singing are performed here by renowned Artists. Recently in the year 2011 Kumbabikesham was performed in a grand manner. This Temple is built on a whopping 20700 Sq.Ft of land. Sri Subramaniya Samaj selected this particular land for Construction of this Temple since it is believed that many 100 years ago Goddess Durga and many Rishis performed Thapas here. Every Year Skanda Sashti, Thaipoosam and Panguni Utthiram are celebrated in a grand manner.
