The Presiding Deities of this Temple are Lord Thirupuleeswarar and Lord Vaikuntanatha Perumal. Here Thirupuleeswarar can be seen along with His Consort Goddess Angayar Kanni and Lord Vaikuntanatha Perumal Blesses His Devotees along with His consorts Sri Devi and Boodhevi. This Temple was built by Palava Kings in the 8 th century AD. There is a 11 Pillared Mandapam near the entrance which was built by Vijayanagara Kings. There is a Idol of Lord Garudar in front of Vaikuntanatha Perumal Shrine. This Temple was built to show care the unity of Sivaism and Vaishnivasm. There is a Idol of Nandhi in front of Lord Thirupuleeswarar Shrine. Archaeological Survey of India maintains and administers this Temple. There are Sub Shrines for Vinayakar, Dhurgai, Dakshinamoorthy. This Temple remains closed on Wednesday
