Triprangode Siva Temple is one of the most important and Sacred Temple of North Kerala. Triprangode is also spelt as Thriprangode. It is an East facing Temple with a car parking facility on its right. Devotees could cross through the few shops located on the anterior side of the Temple. It is an East facing Temple with a multi layered metal lamp in front of it. This Temple has been built in a typical Kerala Style and in the midst of Agricultural fields. On entering the Temple Devotees ought to circumambulate around the outer peripheral and ought to reach the Western side of the Temple since the Moolasthanam is West facing. There is a Flag Staff or a Dwajasthambam along with a huge Bali Peedam facing the Sanctum Sanctorum. A huge oil lamp lit there glows in all splendour. Triprangode Shiva who is West facing is in the form of a Swayambhu Shiva Lingam is also referred as Triprangottappan or Mrithunjan. It is believed that Markendeya when 16 was followed by Yama who put his death noose around Markendeya. Fearing death Markendeya hugged Triprangottappan and hence his life was saved. The Namaskaara Mandapam located just before the Main Deity is a place where Vedic Scholors Chant Mantras on special occasions. The inner peripherals contains multiple pillars with huge black stoned Thinnai. The rear of the Sanctum Sanctorum is in the form of a Gajabrushtam. The Shrine of Goddess Parvathy is to the left of the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Shiva. A Prasada Ghee is given to the Devotees and it is construed that if this Ghee is taken daily for 7 days it would cure the Devotees of all their physical ailments. There are 4 more additional Shirnes dedicated to Lord Shiva within the same Temple complex. Among these one is considered and referred as Moolasthanam which otherwise means that this place was the origin of Lord Shiva and hence called as Karanayil Temple and this is the solitary place where Nandhi Bhagwan could be seen. There is a Sub Shrine for Vishnu in which He is seen with four hands carrying the Conch, Chakkara, Mace and Lotus. Apart from this there are Sub Shrines for Ganesha, Bhadrakaali, Vettakorumakan, Naga Devathas and Brahmmarakshasa. The Sub Shrine for Lord Krishna is mentioned here as Goshala Krishnan. There are around 5 Pushkaranis for this Temple of which 1) Santhikkulam and 2) Vellotukulam are situated in the Temple premises itself. Many of the Deities here and the Temple in general were ravaged during the times of Tippu Sultan. The Temple has a Temple Kitchen or a Madapalli with the place marked for Annadhana Koodam. There are Seva Counter where Devotees could pay for various types of Sevas.
