The Jamia Masjid is also known as a Spanish Mosque or  Masjid Iqbal Ud Daula or Jam e Masjid Aiwan-E-Begumpet.  This Mosque is located inside the Paigah Palace in Begumpet.  The fifth Paigah Amir laid the foundation stone of this Mosque in the year 1900 and due to his sudden demise in the 1902 this Mosque was completed by his son Nawab Sulthan Mulk Bahadur.  Lady Vicar who returned from Spain was astonished on seeing this Mosque complex as this Mosque seemed to be the exact replica of Cathedral–Mosque of Cordoba. This Mosque has a beautiful interior and exterior. The Mosque is known as a Mosque of the Moors due to it’s unique Spanish Style of Architecture.  It is the only mosque in India to have been built  following this style  Architectural.  This Mosque is unique since instead of Minarets it has Spires due to which this Mosque looks more  like a Church than a Mosque. This Jamia Mosque can easily accommodate 3000 Worshippers at a time.  It is considered as a well known land mark of the Muslim Community of Secunderabad. This Mosque is currently maintained by Mr. Faiz Khan and it is an integral part of the Paigah Family.
