Nakhoda Mosque is the biggest Mosque of Kolkata. Abdar Rahim Osman of Kutch region helped to develop this Mosque. This Mosque was built in the year 1926. This is one of  the prominent tourist attractions of Kolkata. Over 10,000 people can perfrom Namaaz together in this Mosque. The Gateway of thie Mosque resembles the Buland Darwaza at Fatehpur Sikri. This Mosque is built by using granite stones brought from Tolepur. The Main Tower of this Mosque is 151 feet tall. There are 25 small towers here, each ranging from 100 to 117 feet tall. This Mosque is built by following Indian and Saracenic style of architecture. On selected days several people flock here to offer Namaaz in this Holy Mosque.
